Four down, one to go!

As you can probably glean from the post title, I have completed four out of five exams!

The last one is Psychology 1A statistics at 2 PM on Friday this week (my excitement is just palpable, isn’t it? *rolls eyes*) but I have to take this one pretty damn seriously because it decides whether I pass Psychology 1A.

As in, it wouldn’t matter if I got 100 out of a hundred questions correct on my theory exam - if I don’t pass stats, I have to repeat Psych 1A.

I really, really don’t want to repeat any subjects, although the trusty student grapevine says this is fairly common and not the end of the world. But.

So, the eighty questions on my stats paper are… scary. Even if the exam is only worth 20 per cent of my total mark. Which means each question is worth roughly… and I suck at maths, people - like a quarter of a mark?

Anyone? Bueller?

I have to get forty questions correct to pass, and that scares me.

I hate maths. I hate logic, although I don’t hate Sudoku puzzles.

And I hate statistics. I also planned out my next semester timetable. I’m looking at dropping what I originally put down for at enrolments in February, or at least one subject - Accounting for Decision Making. It doesn’t fit with Psychology 1B.

Psych doesn’t really attempt to fit in with anything, and hence, it clashes with, like, everything in Business and Law. I’ve already had to postpone one of the core subjects that I was supposed to do this semester just gone because it totally clashed with Psych - even the alternative times!

I mean, that’s skill, Psych. That is skill.

So ultimately, I’m going with:

  • Psychology 1B (complete with the statistics I hate!);
  • Knowing and Knowledge B (are we noticing a theme here?);
  • Human Resource Management (if I pass the prerequisite subject, Management and Organisation Behaviour - which from today’s exam, looks pretty likely);
  • Business Law (eek, but I can actually fit it in!).

If all goes well, I’ll have Thursdays off. I wish I could have Fridays off, but unfortunately not. Monday looks great, with 9 AM Psych 1B and, so far, nothing else! However, I am yet to select my tutorials.

Or even to be sure that I have actually passed all my first semester subjects.

Good luck on your last exam. Hope you did well on all of them. I hated them so much.
