Or, who is this Glittercake you mention? What the hell is a glitter cake?

My name is Sonya. As you may already know, I am a 19 year-old individual (I’m not a girl, not yet a woman) who currently lives in the suburbs just outside of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. I am still living at home with my adoring parents, no brothers or sisters, no pets and five Nintendogs.

I am a full-time university student undertaking a combined Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) degree at a university close to my home, where I am in my first year of study.

In my spare time, I enjoy: listening to music; reading anything and everything I can get my hands (or mouse) on; creating my own jewellery; playing video games; sleeping in, and going out with my friends. My one hour of television viewing a week consists of The Chaser’s War On Everything [an Australian satirical comedy series] and Spicks and Specks [a music trivia quiz show].

I bask in the glow of a successful marriage with the colour pink: my Nintendo DS Lite is pink, my messenger bag for university is pink, I wear pink lipstick, I have a pink mobile phone, my iPod mini is pink…

And I live in a blue bedroom.

Glittercake.net (or simply Glittercake!) is my personal Web site and online identity. The title of the site was born out of an obsession with sparkly (and shiny!) things, and an indifference to cake. I wanted a domain name that was one word, or which, at least, could be combined into a compound word.

Prior to establishing Glittercake!, I had been absent from the personal Web site scene for almost a year due to completing my final year at secondary school. I have now graduated, and subsequently decided that I would like to maintain a Web site of my own once again, and thus Glittercake! was born.

Glittercake! is my personal weblog. It is not written to pander to anyone else’s interests apart from my own. I am, at my core, quite narcissistic, and while having visitors to my blog does excite me, it remains here for my amusement, and as a place to say what I’m thinking in a fairly anonymous manner.
